For a more warm n’ fuzzy approach than Write or Die but with a similar idea, try Written Kitten https://writtenkitten.net/# where for every 100, 200, 500 or 1K words, you get a picture of a cute kitten. You can set how many words you have to write before you get your kitten pic.

Great suggestions for “productive procrastination.” I love looking for inspiration by watching a movie or reading some fiction or craft books. Right now, when I need a break from work, I’ve been reading Start With Why by Simon Sinek to help me evaluate and analyze my brand for DIY MFA.

Another “productive procrastination” I sometimes do is using that time to catch up on some reading (craft or fiction), maybe watch a movie I’ve been meaning to dissect, or do a little platform building. I’ve found that simply watching a movie or reading a bit of fiction will shake the cobwebs loose and inspire an idea I hadn’t thought of before.
