					<description><![CDATA[Up to this point the majority of my writing has been in past tense (just like that statement *grins*). However, I like the thought of immediacy and think that would go well with the story I&#039;m currently plotting. When I&#039;m testing out POV&#039;s, I&#039;ll give present tense a try and see how it feels with the story line. Thanks for the tip, Gabriela!]]></description>

Often I have to check my own writing as I flip flop between past tense and present tense (usually depending on how &quot;deep&quot; into the story I am).  As you say, the only rule for tense is consistency.  I read a story in one of my writing workshops where an author tried to put the flashbacks in past tense and the rest of the story in present tense; it didn&#039;t work.]]></description>
