Nice! I like what I’ve seen in the nature-focused coloring books, though I think I’d be tempted to color the pictures “true to life” instead of letting my imagination take over – which would defeat the purpose, right? *blushes*

I got into coloring books just last year, and I find that ones with nature, flora and fauna appeal to me most. The Enchanted Forest is one of the ones I enjoy. It’s fun experimenting with colors, I feel like a mindless artist sometimes, lol. And it takes me away to a different place of imagination. 🙂

In reply to Sara Letourneau. I got the Enchanted Forest book from the Johanna Basford series. It's got mostly animal and plant patterns with some fairy buildings thrown in. I actually found a Book of Kells coloring book, so I want to get that one next. :)

That’s awesome, Rae! If I had known about them during college (though that was… 10 years ago now? *suddenly feels old*), I would have loved to have had some around then. They’re so soothing yet creatively stimulating. And yes, why not a Disney movie? 😀

I *love* adult coloring books. They were a life saver for me at university. My mom bought me this fantastic one with animals, and a brand-new pack of 50 colored pencils, and once a week or so my roommate and I would spread out on the floor, put in a movie (typically it was Disney, because why not?) and color until the movie was over. Then we’d pack up – even if our pictures weren’t done – and get back to our school work completely refreshed.

And they’re so mindless that you can completely blank out while working, which is such a complicated thing to do these days. Even thoughts about my writing would escape me for those two-ish hours, and I wasn’t sorry. Great stress reliever.
