Ooh, my favorite is absolutely developmental editing. It is just so thrilling to figure out what’s missing and what pieces don’t belong, or to find the perfect way to make an incomplete narrative whole. It’s so much fun to me — I love it!

It’s great fun, isn’t it? One of my favorite parts is helping an author with character development, though the line/copy edit–the narrowing down and enhancing the author’s voice–is what gives me tingles.
